Mikai McDermott is a multidisciplinary creative. She is a licensed trichologist, beauty theorist and creator. Her hairstyling work has featured in British Vogue, Teen Vogue and with credits from multiplatinum recording artists (Tiffany Calver on Drake's London Tour, Summer Walker's London Tour, Aweng Chuol, Munroe Bergdorf and more). She established a successful career as a session hairstylist whilst graduating from the world-renowned institution, the LSE, with a Master’s degree in International History. She currently provides consulting services with agencies on beauty theory and history and has published an essay with Penguin Randomhouse on British Beauty History. Through all of this, Mikai has been able to hone her expertise theoretically and practically and is now at the frontier of the digital beauty age.
